Misadventures of Lil Red

So, it was a very busy morning at work – phones ringing… people complaining and a mountain of paperwork that was growing steadily higher by the minute…

The phone rings. It’s Lil Red.

“Why isn’t he in class, I think??”

He proceeds to tell me that he has been given a detention in class. It would seem that he, along with a close knit gang of similarly minded rascals, decided it would be a perfectly good idea to….

ALL LET OFF PARTY POPPERS DURING A SILENCE ONLY EXAM!!!!!! SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA TO THEM AT THE TIME!!!!!

Trying desperately not to allow Lil Red to hear the smile in my voice, I told him (like a good parent obviously), that it was not the brightest of ideas and he would have to do the detention as given.

For the rest of the morning, I sat like a child myself, awaiting to be called into the principle knowing a phone call was coming from his school.

I got through lunch… the afternoon was drawing to a close… I thought I was home free… and then it rang and in what seemed like big ominous letters…

The name of the school was flashing on my phone in what can only be described as a taunting manor…!!

I was duly advised of the incident by a very stern teacher and felt like I myself had been the one to partake in the prank.

It is very hard for me at times to not giggle and laugh at Lil Red’s antics…whilst not always the brightest of things to do, he is never malicious or unkind… more mischievious and entertaining.

I took the punishment of the phone call and duly apologized.

I’m hoping I get through today without a phone call and telling off.

Time will tell…
